These prices are effective as of April 1, 2013 and are subject to change without notice.

The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the goods and services you selected.

Basic Services of the Funeral Director and Staff

This is the basic non-declinable charge for our professional service. It includes, but is not limited to, a proportionate share of the licenses, utilities and business taxes necessary to serve the public in a professional manner. Also included in this charge is the consultation with the family, clerical and administrative services, placement of obituary notices, preparation and filing of necessary permits, consultation with the clergy, cemetery, crematory or common carrier, or other parties involved with the final disposition of the deceased. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving remains.)

Embalming

Embalming is a chemical process, which provides temporary preservation of the body and eliminates certain health hazards. A person licensed by this state must complete this procedure. Except in certain special cases, law does not require embalming. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.

Cremation

Includes: Basic Professional Services of Staff and Administrative Staff and Use of Basic Facilities, Obtaining Legal Documents, Removal of the Deceased from the Place of Death to the Crematory (within a 30 mile radius), Use of Crematory, State Permits, VA flag at family request and has discharge paperwork.

** Funeral home will file insurance assignments to pay for funeral expenses. Families will be responsible for any arrangements involving organizations (military, etc.), folders, music and video for memorial services that family is conducting.**

Cremation with Memorial Service at Candlewood Chapel No Visitation (Weekday) $1,715.00

Includes: The Basic Professional Services of the Funeral Director and Staff, Directing Memorial Service, Removal and Transfer of Remains to Ford Funeral Service (within a 30 mile radius), Refrigeration, Use of Crematory, State Permits.
This Service Does Not Include: Public Visitation, Additional Merchandise, Taxes or Cash Advance Items

Immediate Burial

Immediate Burial (Weekday) $1,270.00

Includes: Basic Professional Services of Staff and Administrative Staff and Use of Basic Facilities, Obtaining Legal Documents, Removal of the Deceased from the Place of Death to the Funeral Home (within a 30 mile radius), Washing & Disinfecting of Unembalmed Remains, Delivery to cemetery and utility vehicle (within a 30 mile radius).
This Service Does Not Include: Merchandise, Visitation, Funeral Service, Refrigeration, Taxes or Cash Advance Itemss

Forwarding of Remains to another Funeral Home $2,455.00

Includes: Basic Professional Services of Staff and Administrative Staff and Use of Basic Facilities, Obtaining Legal Documents and Other Paperwork Necessary to Complete the Transfer, Removal of the Deceased from the Place of Death to the Mortuary (within a 30 mile radius), Embalming, Casketing and Trip to Airport, ME Permit.
This Service Does Not Include: Merchandise, Visitation, Cash Advance Items, Funeral Service, Taxes or Other Services

Receiving of Remains from another Funeral Home $1,270.00

Includes: Basic Professional Services of Funeral Director and Staff, Transfer of Remains from another Funeral Home or Airport, Delivery to cemetery and Utility Vehicle (within 30 mile radius).
