November 21, 1947 - April 18, 2019
Arleta “Kay” Tomlinson, 71, of Montgomery, Texas, RAN into the arms of Jesus April 18, 2019, after a long and courageous battle with illnesses with her loving family by her side. She was born to the late William Frank and Arlene Allen November 21, 1947, in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Kay graduated from Midwest City High School in 1965 and married her high school sweetheart shortly after graduation. She married the love of her life DeWayne H. Tomlinson on June 18, 1965, and they lived an example of a Godly marriage for 53 years. Kay was welcomed with loving arms into heaven by her parents, sisters Betty Allen, Helen Hastings, Billie Avery, Maxine Bean, and her brother Jimmy Allen. Waiting to join her and trying to live by her example are her husband, daughters, Trisha Lauter (Jason) and Kendra Vincent (Gene), grandson Ryan Armstrong (Carley), granddaughters Kalynn Vincent and Keridyn Armstrong, step-grandson Ryan Vincent (Debra), step-granddaughters Kellie and Kylie Lauter, soon to be step-great granddaughter Audrey Vincent, beloved sister Pat Allen, numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Her cherished fur baby Riley and grand fur baby Rocky will miss her dearly. Kay was the perfect soul mate and best friend. She loved and cherished her husband. Through their days as marriage counselors, Sunday School teachers, and faithful followers of Christ, they exemplified what true love and marriage should be. Kay was a dedicated daughter, sister, wife, mother, and friend first and foremost. She treasured her girls and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Mama Kay. She loved her family and instilled in them strong values that have served them well. She had a kind and loving personality and made friends with everyone around her. Her laugh was contagious, her eyes twinkled, and her heart was filled with love. She was strong, courageous, graceful, and elegant. She was a true lady. As God’s Word says in 2 Timothy 4:7-8: Kay, you have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept your tremendous and unfaltering faith. Now you have the crown of righteousness, which our precious Savior awarded you. A celebration of Kay’s life will be held graveside at Arlington Memory Gardens, Friday, April 26, 2019 at 11:00 am, with Kay’s precious friend, Aaron Marez presiding. Special thanks to Amy Sorrells with Home Healthcare, Tawny, Falicia, Vicky, Marty, Tilly, Patti, and Julia with Tradition’s Healthcare and Hospice. Thank you for loving our mama and taking such good care of her and our family. Diana and Amanda, thank you for always making mama's hair beautiful and all the love you showed her. “Mama, have I told you how much I love you today? Have I told you that you’re my most favorite person in the whole world?” In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation or Dementia Society of America.
