Betty Anderson Faith — Family — Friends also known as Mom Betty, G-Ma, Betty Boop and Betty Nell. Betty was born and raised in Ada, OK. Betty instilled the value of education in EVERYONE around her, including herself. She graduated from Ada High in 1951 and received her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Central Oklahoma. She spent her career teaching special education in the Mid-Del school district until her retirement. She married the love of her life, Arnold ‘Andy’ Anderson in 1956. They were married for 47 years until Arnold’s passing in 2004. They enjoyed many adventures together traveling the country and visiting with family. Betty was quite active and loved to walk, hike, water-ski, rock climb, white water raft and hot air balloon. Betty considering herself quite the poet-laureate and built an impressive collection of poetic creations in her life time. You may be familiar with her creations entitled “Bad Apple”or “Mother”. She was the glue that bound us together in any situation. She was the friend you could always count on and most importantly she loved big with her radiant smile and sparkling eyes. Betty spent her time later in life dedicated to volunteering and serving the church to help those in need and found life long friendships making memories and traveling. She also quite enjoyed watching OKC Thunder and her great-grand babies. Betty was predeceased by her husband, Arnold Anderson; her parents, Ora (Ricketts) and Andrew Jackson Henderson; her sister, Wilma (Henderson) Byrd and her daughter, Sandra Anderson. Surviving family include her daughter, Diane Earnest; granddaughter, Brandy Cleveland and husband Joe Cleveland; granddaughter, Jamie Cote and husband Ryan Cote; granddaughter, Alissa Ashford; grandson, Jimmy Earnest and wife Barbara Earnest; her pride & joy great-grandchildren: Kamdyn McAllister, Alyssa Cote, Avery Cleveland, Andrew Cote, Adeline Cote and James Earnest III; honorary sister, Nancy Moore and several nieces, nephews, cousins and family scattered around the country.
