Clara Bernice Jenkins Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Aunt & grandmother on 14 May 2022 in Oklahoma City. Clara Bernice Isaacks was born 30 Sep 1941 in Slocum, Texas, the second of four children born to Lula Corine (Downs) and Daniel Adam Isaacks, in Slocum, TX. As a child the family moved to Fostoria, TX where she attended school. The family then moved to Cleveland, TX where she attended Cleveland High School. She loved growing up in southern TX. On July 27, 1959, after a year of going steady, she married James Darrel Jenkins Jr. They did everything together. He was truly the love of her life. Their marriage was blessed with four sons plus they had the joy of raising their grandson Benton. Bernice enjoyed riding around in the antique cars Jimmy rebuilt. Bowling was a family affair. Which is still enjoyed by many family members. Her puppies Lucky, Luna, Cujo, and Skeeter were her joy. Bernice loved life, her friends and being w/her family. During her illness she received the love & support of her family. Our loss has left a hole in our hearts, but we have cherished memories that time cannot take away. Those left to cherish Bernice's memories include her husband of 62 years, Jimmy, sons : David Anaya with wife Sharidan, Leslie Ray, and Ricky Benton with wife Laurie, all live in the south Oklahoma City area; 5 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; 2 step great great grandchildren; Siblings Nancy Marie with husband Carroll Ray Pursley and Charles Edward Isaacks , TX; Sibling in laws: Virginia with husband Harold Hargis, Tulsa, OK; LaJuana Smith, Naomi Ruth with husband Dan Gray, Richard with wife Betty Jenkins, Sharon Tullis, Neena with husband Mark Mueller, Gail Cohn, all of whom live in TX; and Don with wife Vicky Jenkins, MO; Etelvina Villarreal Isaacs plus many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son Noah Allen Jenkins, her parents Daniel and Lula Isaacks, and brother Andrew Isaacks
