Donald N. McLeod Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Donald Neil McLeod, 89, of Midwest City, OK, passed peacefully of natural causes at his home on June 17, 2021. He was born in McAlester, OK, on November 14, 1931 to Vernie Lorenzo and Alma Simpson McLeod. He grew up in Wewoka, OK, and graduated from Wewoka High School. Married Brenda J. Thompson in 1967, though later divorced. Don worked as a civil servant for more than 38 years. Don was known for his love of spending time at the lake; regularly taking his family for week long camping trips with lots of time spent boating, water skiing, and fishing. Don was a “Ford man.” He strongly believed the only vehicle worth owning was a Ford. He continually kept busy working on project cars and acting as mechanic for his children. He enjoyed spending time with his children, but excelled as a grandpa and great-grandpa. Known as PawPaw, his heart was clearly on display when he had the opportunity to spend time with them. Survived by his four children: Kimberly McLeod, Tammy Hudson, Mike McLeod, Sr., and Kirk McLeod; and daughter-in-law Stacy Thompson McLeod, all of Oklahoma City; three grandchildren: Mike McLeod, Jr., Hunter Hudson, and Paige McLeod; and one great-grandchild, Ryder Hudson; his sisters: Virginia Greenwood of Charlottesville, VA, and Laverne Volk of Kill Devil Hills, NC. He also leaves behind many loved nieces, nephews, cousins, and other cherished family members. Preceded in death by his ex-wife Brenda J. McLeod; and his sister, Edna Lou McLeod Crow.
