H. Fred Lynn Pinkston Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Harry Freddie Lynn Pinkston, longtime resident of Oklahoma City, passed away May 30, 2022 at the age of 90. Fred was born on February 28, 1932 to Harry and Maxine Pinkston in Seminole, OK. Fred graduated from the class of 1951 from Northeast High School in Oklahoma where Fred was a football star. Shortly after graduating, Fred enlisted into the Army Brank of the military during the Korean War. He was on the front lines with the South Korean Army. As a communications operator using morse code to communicate with the US Troops. Fred received several medals including 2 Bronze Service Stars. Fred was affiliated with the Pentecostal Church of Del City, where he enjoyed playing the guitar in the band. Fred was happy traveling with his wife in their RV, visiting with friends & family and making homemade ice cream. Fred will be sorely missed by all. He is survived by his wife, Opal (Opie) Pinkston; daughter Gay Lynn Dechant; step-children Larry Dodd, Patti Weaver, and Cathi Pinkston; half brother, Dave Pinkston and numerous grand and great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents Harry & Maxine Pinkston, Step-father, Charles Glen Starr and brother, Shirley Karl Pinkston. Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 10:00 am- 12:00 pm at Ford Funeral Service. A graveside service will follow at 2:00 pm at Rossville Cemetery in Meeker, OK. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Fred’s name.
