Jimmie Nell Hamlin

November 16, 1937 - December 25, 2021

Jimmie Nell Hamlin, of Midwest City, OK, went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday morning, December 25, 2021. Jimmie was born November 16, 1937 to William Edgar Barcom and Willie Mary (McCary) in Antlers, OK. She graduated from Antlers High School in 1957, and continued her education at Draughon’s Practical Business College in Oklahoma City, OK. Jimmie worked in an accounting position at the Petroleum Club in downtown Oklahoma City before dedicating her life to her family as a homemaker. Jimmie was a loving person whose passion was caring for others. She was a faithful member of Country Estates Baptist Church and found great enjoyment from her “Joy” Sunday school class, fishing at Sardis Lake, and being with her grandchildren. Jimmie trusted Jesus at a young age and embodied the principle of God first, others second, and herself third. She was always on her feet making sure that those around her were well cared for, and she was faithful to begin each day with quiet and devoted time to her Lord. Jimmie is survived by her husband of 62 years, Horace E. Hamlin; daughters Mary Lou Hamlin, and Linda G. McIver and husband Rick McIver; grandchildren Ryan Thomas McIver and wife Gabby, William (Liam) Isaac Hamlin Martin of Kansas City, MO, Erica Lindsay McIver, Cameron Thomas Martin of Fayetteville, AR, and Miranda Janelle McIver; great-grandson Evan Henry McIver; sister Jane Brooking and husband Les Brooking; sister-in-law Betty Barcom of Matlock, WA; nieces Laurie Balthis and husband James of Matlock, WA, and Debbie Main and husband Bill of Arizona; nephew Kenny Barcom and wife Mary of Bonney Lake, WA; and many other loving family and friends. She is preceded in death by parents, Willie Mary and William Edgar Barcom, brother Randel L. Barcom, and nephew Marty Barcom. On Thursday, December 30, 2021 at 4pm, a celebration of Jimmie’s life will be held at Ford Funeral Services. Visitation will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021, from 10 am to 8 pm; the family will be present at the visitation from 3 pm to 5 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Missions or Youth Ministry at Country Estates Baptist Church, 1000 S. Midwest Blvd., Midwest City, OK 73110.
