Leola Miller Irwin, 79, of Midwest City, OK passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Wednesday, April 28, 2021. Leola was born in Mobile, AL to Leo James and Clarice Ward Miller. She was the oldest five kids. Growing up Leola was a bit of a tom boy. She loved sports, especially softball and bowling. Leola would go on to graduate from Vigor High School and went on to work in many different careers over her life. She worked at Crest Baptist Church, Rose State College, Standard Life, H&R Block, and civil service at Tinker Air Force Base until she finally retired. Leola married Jesse Pat Bates ending in 1968. She would later go on to marry Albert Clayton Mallette Sr. from October 15, 1969 to August 17, 1992. Years later she would would marry Herman Everett ‘Tiny’ Irwin on August 20, 1996 to January 2005. Leola enjoyed crocheting and sewing, which she taught to her children. She frequently did word puzzles, jig-saw puzzles and enjoyed playing cards with anyone who was willing. She was always there for any activity her children and grandchildren were involved in. On any day at home, she could be found looking at the backyard to see irises and tulips blooming. Leola kept herself busy with PTA, which she served as president for many years at Soldier Creek Elementary and Carl Albert Middle School. She was the bowling secretary and treasurer. She was a Toastmaster and affiliated with the Eastern Star and Amranth. She is survived by her uncle Walter P. ‘Buster’ and wife Elizabeth Ward of Alabama; siblings Joan and husband Leroy of Alabama, and Melissa ‘Lisa’ Miller of Alabama; children Brenda Stokes of Alabama, Aletha and husband James Paradis of Oklahoma, Albert C. Mallette Jr. of Oklahoma, and Ellen Mallette and significant other James Clemmons of Oklahoma; grandchildren Ingrid Goff and 6 children and 5 grandchildren of Alabama, Brent and wife Judy Goff of Alabama, Reta Lyn Mallette and 3 children of Alabama, Kenneth Mallette Jr. and 6 children of Alabama, Kristy and Chris Johnson and 3 children of Alabama, Kelsea and husband Mason Dobbins and their expected child of Oklahoma, James M. Paradis and significant other Jenis Edwards of Oklahoma, Heath A. Paradis, Clayton L. Mallette of Oklahoma, and Dakotah Clemmons of Oklahoma; extended family Leo Shawn Lee and 2 kids, Jimbo and wife DeAnn Lee and 5 children, Bennie Scarbrough, Leann and husband Phillip Bouldrey and 3 children and 3 grandchildren, Scott and wife April Brown and 3 children, Stephanie Brown and significant other Michael and 4 children, Chad and Catherine Brown and 2 children, Nathan and wife Carol Brown and 3 children, Brandon and wife April Miller and 2 children, Amanda Miller and 2 children, Leo and Becky Miller and 2 children and 1 grandchild, Jim Porter, Michael Porter and significant other Paula, Jonathan and wife Jennifer Porter and 6 children, Jeremy and wife Anna Porter and 5 children, “Sis” and Calvin King and children and grandchildren, Lukat family, Mallette family and Smith family, along with numerous other extended family members throughout Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, and Texas; friends Rita Baker, Sandra Bagger, Edith Deitz, the Crest Baptist Church family, and Dawn Mallette. She is preceded in death by her parents; previous husbands Jesse Bates, Albert Clayton Mallette Sr. and Herman Everett “Tiny” Irwin; Aunt Lucille Lukat; siblings Jean and husband Roy Brown, Charles “Chuck” Miller, Claudia Smith and husbands James Lee and James Smith, Judith C. Porter; child Kenneth E. Mallette Sr.; and friend Iris Conley.
