Melissa C. Maier Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Melissa Cherece Maier passed away Tuesday, July 27, 2021 at the age of 45, in Frisco, Texas. She was born September 27, 1975 to Nathaniel and Janice McGuire in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She attended Del Crest Middle School and she graduated from Clinton High School in 1994. While in high school she was an active cheerleader. Immediately after high school, she attended Oklahoma Baptist University in 1994-1995. While at OBU, she became the first African American cheerleader. Melissa graduated college at Texas Women’s University in 2011 with a Bachelor's degree in Education. She was pursuing her master’s degree in literature and poetry. Melissa enjoyed music, her reading club, playing pool with her league, and spending time with friends and family. She was an avid reader and loved writing poetry. Melissa was also a published author. Melissa loved watching Marvel movies with her kids. She also loved her three cats; Maclewis, Digit Leroy, and Finn Lint Maier. Melissa was a high school English teacher at Allen High School where she loved her students and faculty. She loved Mickey Mouse as it symbolized her own bravery, goofiness, kindness, selflessness, mischievousness, and adventurous characteristics. Melissa was always the life of the party and knew how to make people laugh. Melissa’s love for people, and willingness to help anybody around her did not go unnoticed. Melissa will never be forgotten, her memories will always stay with us, and her love will always be felt. Melissa is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Maddox and Marlowe Maier and their father, Jason Maier; parents, Nathaniel and Janice McGuire; sister, Charleen and her husband Jeremy Hudson, along with their children Cherece, Chailyn, and Cheridan Hudson; brother, Nathaniel Joseph McGuire and wife LaTasha, along with his children Ashlynne, Nathaniel Joseph II, and Liam McGuire. She is also lovingly remembered by many other family members, friends, coworkers and students.
