March 19, 1953 - January 4, 2022
Patricia Ann Butler or “Pat” was a beloved grandmother, mother, and wife during her 68 years of life. Her heart could no longer contain the love she had for her family and friends and gave out the afternoon of Tuesday, January 4, 2022 in Oklahoma City. Pat was born on March 19, 1953, in Capitol Hill, Oklahoma, to two loving parents, Roy Arthur and Mildred Pearl (Elkins) Hammer. She graduated from Carl Albert in 1971 and then worked as a bookkeeper and later at Tinker Air Force where she was a computer operator and retired after 20 years. Pat met the love of her life, Jess Aubin Butler, while she was in high school. They met through Pat’s brother and Jess’ friend Marshall and it was love at first sight. They were married in 1971 in Del City, but before Pat’s father would agree to let Jess marry her, he had to give his word to love and care for her every day of her life. It was a duty that Jess carried out lovingly and faithfully for over 50 years. For nine years, Jess and Pat tried to have a child. Finally, the Lord blessed them with Tami, and she immediately became Pat’s pride and joy. Pat loved her so much and would tell anyone who would listen that it took God nine years to make such a special child. The relationship Pat had with her brother Marshall was very special. Marshall looked after Pat and they even purchased vacation homes in Cedar Blue in Sulphur together until Marshall passed away in 2016. Friends and family imagine the hugs and laughter of the two of them now after finally being reunited. We will remember Pat for her loving nature, her playfulness, and her smile. She doted on her chihuahua Odie and loved to keep up with family and friends. She enjoyed music, crafts, bowling, and motorcycle rides, which later in life turned into golf carts rides. Her husband Jess remembers how they used to square dance everywhere they went, even in a lake. Her daughter Tami remembers her as Brownie Troop leader and friends and family looked forward to celebrating the holidays with Pat who would always make her legendary fudge. Pat leaves behind to cherish her memory her beloved husband of over 50 years Jess Butler, her only child Tami Constable and husband Jason, grandchildren Abbie and Xavier Loch, her fur baby Odie, and a multitude of nieces, nephews and their families. We will miss Pat dearly, but we are so grateful for the time we had to spend with her. We will always feel her presence in our hearts. Services will be held at 2pm on Friday, January 7th at Ford Funeral Service in Midwest City.
