January 20, 1933 - March 6, 2022
In Loving Memory of Wanda Faye Reed Wanda Faye (McKinney) Reed, 89, of Midwest city, Oklahoma went to be with the Lord on March 6, 2022. She was born January 20,1933 in Ozark, Arkansas to Jesse Eland McKinney and Susie Rachel (Turrentine) McKinney. Married for 71 years to Billie Rex Reed, they had three children, 5 grandchildren and 10 greatgrandchildren. She was a devoted wife and mother. After devoting herself fulltime to her children and the home, Wanda enjoyed a career as administrative assistant for Meadowood Baptist Church, a printing services company and a product sales company. Bill describes her as “an excellent travel partner” and they traveled extensively throughout their lives, especially enjoying road trips in their motor home after retirement. Church was always integral to her life, and she faithfully attended, sang in the choir, taught Sunday School and worked on many mission projects. Bill and Wanda combined their love of travel and heart for missions through Campers on Missions and she participated in the many outreach projects of the group. Her near-photographic memory made her an excellent card, domino and board games player and she loved playing games with family and friends. Her blue eyes sparkled when she told a joke or story with impeccable timing. We will miss her beautiful smile and loving guidance. Survivors include devoted husband Billie Rex Reed, daughter Sue Lander (Steve) of Tyler, Texas; daughter Wani Geis (Bruce) of Fredericksburg, Virginia and son Kenny Reed (Jeanna) of Carrollton, Texas; grandchildren and great-grandchildren Ryan Geis (Jill), Rex and Sigourney of Fruita, CO; Kensey Jones (Michael), Reid and Madison of Richmond, VA; Melissa Schmoldt, Lucien and Eden of Frisco, TX; Zechariah Reed (Laura) and Austin of Garland, TX; Jesse Reed (Jennifer), Michael, Braelyn and Julie of Carrollton, TX. We will celebrate her life at 10:00 AM on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at Meadowood Baptist Church, 2816 N. Woodcrest, Midwest City, OK under direction of Ford Funeral Services. The service will also be live streamed at Meadowood.online.church following the link to her service. Following the service, she will be interred at Resthaven Gardens Cemetery in Oklahoma City, OK.
